​​​The 21st Annual Tidewater Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (TC-TAI) Golf Tournament

is named after Documented Original Tuskegee Airman (DOTA), Lawrence E. Anderson. Although he's no longer with us, the Chapter's Education Assistance program lives on with the help of 2-DOTAs & several Chapter Volunteer Members to help deserving students aspiring to go to a College/University of their choice.

Since 1999, the Tidewater Chapter - TAI & Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) have issued deserving students in the Hampton Roads area a total of more than $325,000.00.  The students have earned $1,000, $1,500 and $25,000 awards during this period and have gone on to become not only College Graduates but responsible U.S. Citizens serving in myriad professions/capacities, such as Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Military Personnel, Software Engineers, Businessmen/women, Producers of Documentaries, Scientists, Airline Pilots, Accountants, etc. Many have returned to our Chapter's Annual Gala where they received their Scholarship monies to encourage and support recipients who have followed in their footsteps. We hope they will continue to do so to the Scholarship Luncheons we now conduct in DOTA Anderson's memory.

At the Tidewater Chapter - TAI, we embody the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child" and in the spirit of the Tuskegee Airmen who had to fight for the right to fight for their own country, we feel we owe it to our DOTAs and those deserving College-bound students to continue the Tuskegee Airmen's proud legacy through these Youths so they can help us share the Tuskegee Airmen Experiment/Experience and their World War II accomplishments.  In short, the Tidewater Chapter is very proud to be leading the community effort to continue this proud Legacy of Excellence through Generations of Students, now Gen Z and even beyond!
